Lace’O My Aso (1-2) | 42 |
X1 (2-1) | 47 |
Sunday, April 17, 11:00am at Graphics HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Michael Boord (X1) 13 points, 15 rebounds, 1 block |
Lace’O My Aso did not have the requisite number of players at tip-off, so X1 started this game with a 20-0 1st quarter lead after shooting technical FTs. When LMA did finally show up, they chipped all the way back in to make this game, but just didn’t have enough. X1 rookie (F) Eric Hailer finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds. LMA (F) Mark Promax with 11 points, 9 rebounds.
Financial Ventures Group (2-1) | 64 |
Top Stars (0-3) | 57 |
Sunday, April 17, 2:30pm at MLK HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Kev Chang (FVG) 25 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists |
Financial Ventures had no real answer for Top Stars (C) Ben Dorman, who extends his streak of 25+ ppg games to four, but they didn’t have to stop him. They just had to outscore him. And (F) Kev Chang took on the challenge, as TOP really had no answer for him either. Not to mention (G) Jason Chin finally broke out of a mini-shooting slump to finish with 17 points on 4 3FGs.
Asphalt Ninjas (3-0) | 65 |
Jay’s Angels (2-1) | 57 |
Sunday, April 17, 3:00pm at Graphics HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Chi Ming Pun (ASN) 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals |
For a new team, Jay’s Angels competed well against a veteran team like the Asphalt Ninjas. It was anyone’s game up until the 4th quarter when ASN’s savvy play took over. (G) Ace Watanasuparp and (F) Chi Ming Pun led the Ninjas with 16 points a piece. JAY (G) Sal Nasser continues to play well with a game-high 21 points along with an impressive 3 blocks.
Shawty Likes the Way I Ball Out (2-1) | 79 |
Space Jam (1-2) | 68 |
Sunday, April 17, 4:00pm at Graphics HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Deric Kung (SHA) 30 points, 10 3FGs, 6 rebounds |
Talk about a break out game. Shawty Likes the Way I Ball Out’s rookie shooter (G) Deric Kung went off, making a league best 10 3FGs, which matched Space Jam’s total 3FGs as a team. JAM fought hard to stay in the game, getting within 2 points to end the half. But that was quickly followed up by a 28-13 period by SHA to take control. They never looked back.
Shawn Kemp’s Kids (0-3) | 70 |
Yung No Fly Zone (3-0) | 78 |
Sunday, April 17, 4:30pm at MLK HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Michael Reding (NFZ) 17 points, 25 rebounds, 5 assists |
There were moments in this game when it looked as if No Fly Zone would break this open with another signature offensive flurry. But Shawn Kemp’s Kids never let it happen as (G) Donnie Walsh and (G) James Alexander took advantage of a sluggish NFZ back court. SKK was right there the entire game, until NFZ pulled away late. It wasn’t their best 3-pt shooting game, but it was still key 3FGs down the stretch that helped seal this win.
Honey Badgers (2-1) | 72 |
Let it Fly (1-2) | 55 |
Sunday, April 10, 4:30pm at MLK HS | Box Score |
Player of the Game: Zach Moretti (HON) 28 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists |
It’s never a good idea to have players come in late, but especially not the Honey Badgers. When this team smells blood, they are tough to handle. (F) Zach Moretti continues to be a great fit for HON, finishing with a season best 28 points and 16 rebounds. (G) Tommy Wong also finished with a season high 21 points, 7 3FGs. LIF (G) Deric Rhett finished with a team-high 23 points.
