PREMIER DIVISION
1) NY DREAM (3-0)
SCOUTING REPORT: Dream still has to sort out who exactly is on their roster, but whoever it is, he will be very good at basketball. This team has what equates to no “salary cap restrictions” and the talent they’ve had come through is some of the best the league has ever had.
2) WE HAD GAME (4-0)
SCOUTING REPORT: Before taking last season off, We Had Game had been the favorite to win it all for two straight seasons. They fell just short in both. So, with essentially the same personnel and another strong start, it’s championship or bust. (G) Michael Springer leads a more balanced scoring attack.
3) NYK SPARTANS (2-1)
SCOUTING REPORT: Coming off their first Premier title two seasons ago, the Spartans have high hopes yet again this season. (G) Josh Hyon continues to be a top tier guard at this level, and they’re getting some balanced scoring from key players, they should be able to make another run.
4) FREE AGENTS (2-2)
SCOUTING REPORT: The Agents certainly miss the explosive scoring of (G) Aaron Smith, but (G) Kyle Lew is playing the best ball of his career right now. (F) Chris Menasche can say that, too. Rookie (G) Ryan Murawski has been a solid add, but this is a short roster with little depth.
5) GET THE STRAP (1-2)
SCOUTING REPORT: Newcomer (G) Marquis Johnson is proving to be a big-time scorer at this level who brings great size (6-4) at the scoring guard position. There is some potential here, especially with 6-9 (C) Anthony Cox joining the team this week.
6) PEACE & LOVE (1-2): Solid guard play, but the front court has been non-existent so far.
7) GAME 7 (1-3): On paper, this team should be better than this every season.
8) PACIFIC (0-3): This is PAC’s first season in Premier, but no (G) Sam Bobley has hurt.
