GUARD ME MAYBE picks up right where they left off last regular season, getting off to a great start at 2-0 while reigning MVP (F) Brian Law has yet to play a game. (G/F) Stefan Chaplin has stepped up ably in his absence.

MLG
2-0
They spent the first half of last season getting their feet wet, but they’re fully acclimated now. MLGB is looking to contend for the D2 title, and from the looks of their 2-0 start, they’re ready for the challenge. This is a tough, physical team that doesn’t back down from anyone.
3 (n/a)
RAW
2-0
The RAW DOGS are a new team replacing Team Hardwood. They have a stacked back-court that loves to launch the three. We’ll need to see more games for better intel.
4 (n/a)
DPY
0-1
It’s just one loss with three key players out, so the defending champs aren’t too concerned. DON’T EVER PLAY YOURSELF just needs to bide their time while (G) Emery Clark recovers from a knee injury. They’ll be back in winning mode come post-season.
5 (n/a)
NGC
1-1
NYC GRITTY COMMITTEE isn’t getting any younger, and they’re loss vs MLG wasn’t pretty. But this is a team with plenty of veteran savvy. When their guards start clicking offensively, there as much a title contender as anyone on this list.
6 (n/a)
DAW
1-1
There may be no player in D2 who can stay in front of D.A.W. (G) Jason Meija, and the combo with (C) Lou Nikki makes a for a nice 1-2 punch. After losing a tough opener to RAW, they bounced back with a dramatic comeback win over MIX.
7 (n/a)
JAM
1-1
SPACE JAM‘s addition of (F) Nick Liveris certainly bolsters their front line, but it only makes them slightly faster as a team, a glaring need for the team (speed). Still, (G) J.L. Novosad is shooting lights out right now, and when they’re hitting 3s, they’re tough to beat.
8 (n/a)
MIX
1-2
MIXED BAG is (G) Chung Lee‘s third franchise this season, testing the water of D2 WN. (G) Effie Klein has been a solid newcomer with 17.5 ppg on an efficient 59% FGs. Combined with versatile (F) Mark Promax, this team should improve as the season goes.

UBC
0-2
It’s been a rough start for UNCLE BOUGHT A COW who looked like a new powerhouse in their last D2 campaign. Granted, they faced two tough opponents, but the #s aren’t pretty. But this is the same roster as before, so expect them to make a move up.

TRI
0-2
TRIBE is a new team with some familiar faces. They narrowly lost to JAM so they could just as easily have been in their spot. This is default low rating until we can see more games. With veterans in key positions, expect TRI to make a move as well.

30F
2-0
30-FOR-30 is back and they’ve gotten off to a strong start. Newcomer (F) Joseph Han has been a beast in his first 2 games and paired with anchor (C) Ezekial Shin in the middle, this will be one of D3’s most formidable defenses. And they can score, too.
2 (n/a)
SNB
1-1
Kind of a roller coaster start for SMASH N BOUNCE who convincingly bested YIE, only to be blown out by 30F last week. (F) Nathan Kan is a proven scorer at this point, but 1 rpg is rough for a team that struggles on the boards in the first place. SNB looks very solid nevertheless.
3 (n/a)
YIE
2-1
The only player more dominant than 30F’s Han right now is YIELDMO (F) Max Paynter. And that’s because he is the most dominant player in D3 right now. With him carrying the load and crafty (G) Zach Sherman at the point, this team could be a contender by season’s end.
4 (n/a)
NGC
1-0
They’ve only played one game, but NYC GRITTY COMMITTEE, last season’s best reg season team, can easily climb back up to #1. (G) Mark Lee, (G) Teddy Oh and (F) Steve Chung are as good a scoring trio as any in D3, and (C) Victor Chia will be D3’s biggest player again.
5 (n/a)
DYN
0-1
There’s no more explosive scorer in D3 than NY DYNASTY (G) David Chu, and no better utility guard than (G) Ian Yu. But the two of them combined with huge adds (F) Tim Chen & (F) Marvin Chu couldn’t get a win over NGC. It will take some time, but DYN has serious firepower.
6 (n/a)
HAN
1-2
HANDEL ARCHITECTS have some very solid pieces with scorers (G) ChangHee Park, (F) Han Lee, and versatile (F) Garrett Brignoli. They just have to keep plugging away and building team chemistry. The wins will come as they improve.
7 (n/a)
GA7
1-1
Newbie franchise GAME 7 bounced back from a blowout loss to HAN with a narrow win over TBT last night. (G) Elliott Curtis and (G) Mike Hamane are the familiar faces on this roster, but it will be interesting to see who can step up for GA7 down the line.
8 (n/a)
TBT
0-1
Tough loss to start the season, but TBT brings in a new roster so it may take some time to get settled in. (F) Alex Lu is the one familiar face, and he’ll bring in defensive toughness and versatility on both sides of the ball.
9 (n/a)
TED
0-1
Admittedly, we expected TED TALKS to fare better in their opener vs YIE. With (G) Julian Choi and (G) Steve Shin, they should have plenty of scoring. And (F) Sam Kang is as big and tough as they come. Surely they can do better than last week’s effort.
