SKW
3-0 It is a testament to SK War Dog‘s deep roster that they can lose MVP candidate (G) Kash Miah (knee) & (F) Sean Zhang (personal) and still come back as the team to beat. As expected (G) “Vegas” Dave Wong has picked up the scoring reins, and both (F) Michael Palacios and (F/C) Michael Campbell‘s return to the lineup has already paid off.
(n/a) NFZ 2-1 With (G) Sal Nasser joining the team, Yung No Fly Zone has become a more aggressive team on offense and D (as if they could be  more aggro on offense). (F) Dale White is a much-needed bruiser/facilitator. But, after (F) Mike Reding‘s best game of the season, he is out for the reg season. Perfect time for (F) David Farnham to rejoin the roster.
(n/a) SPB
1-1 An FA team with mostly Space Jam and Honey Badgers joining forces, Space Badgers has talent. (G) Alex Tsay, (F) Sherwin Salar with new D1 entry (F) Sam Deadwyler. Add (G) John Hsu, (G) David Hsiung and two legit bigs in (C) Brent Clayton and (C) Graham Diamond, this could be contender real soon.
(n/a) RAR 1-2 Raining Rosebuds is working in some new talent. New add (G) Justin Elliot is as fast as they come and has made his impact on defense. (G) Joseph Jaffee is playing near MVP ball. But this has been a team with plenty of guard talent for the past few seasons. What they really need to round out this team is a couple of reliable low-post options.
(n/a) SHA 1-2 Shawty Likes the Way I Ball Out is always as good as who makes it to the games. At full strength they are a championship team, they have proven that already. It’s still early in the season so SHA has plenty of time to get on the right track. Already under their belt is a well-earned win over NFZ in the Week 1 opener.
(n/a) ISS 0-2 This is a team with the same problem as SHA, the ISS Flightz are as good as which players show up. (F) Jason Wu will give them a solid all around effort every game, but they need more scorers to support a solid defense. (G) Jarrett Lee will be key, as will (G) Kyle Lew, but they could use (C) Howie Chu to anchor the low-post, if he’s even available.

SXP
3-0 Until someone proves otherwise, the Sex Panthers the team to beat. The younger, more athletic teams that gave SXP fits last season are not in the field this season so the fast track for a repeat title is there. It just might depend on SXP not getting complacent. Spring championship MVP (F) Chris Di has been putting up some vintage numbers so far.
(n/a) NFZ 3-0 After a disastrous spring season, No Fly Zone OG made some changes, and the turnaround has been immediate. The biggest change is getting (F) Kevin Wong back in the lineup. His work on D and heady offense, along with the addition of defensive stalwart (C) Dan Tak, let (G) Ren Hsieh & (F) Young Wang focus on offense, which is much improved.
(n/a) TEA
2-1 With Teal Curtain‘s size, defense, and heady guard play, they could be just as much a contender as anyone in the Top 3 by season’s end. (F) Noah Scovronick is virtually unstoppable in the low-post and they won’t be outworked in any game. Somehow they got derailed last season, mostly by attendance. Full roster, this is a very good D2 team.
(n/a) TAP 2-1 The good news for TAP NY is that (G) Will Chu is shooting like his old self again, and the addition of (F) Jin Bae Kim has been a pretty good fit. Kim gives TAP the athleticism and finishing ability in transition that they have needed. He’s also a terror on defense, putting game after game in the High-5 club.  If TAP gets hot they can make some noise.
(n/a) FOB 1-2 Truth is, Gritty FOB City should be 2-1, but they pretty much gave away a game to NFZ. Or NFZ stole it. Either way, nothing chances with any (F) Ethan Kim produced team. If they can make the playoffs, they look to make a run. And good news for FOB is that (F) David Ri has looked more aggressive to start this season. They need him to be.
(n/a) RAP 1-2 The Raptors gave away a game last week by forfeit, which is something they can’t much afford to do. They will likely be on the fringe of the post season all season, and will need every win they can get. A big step in that direction is the addition of (F) Mike Adames who should be good for 20-10 every game. If he actually makes the games.
(n/a) LAR 0-3 Larry the Cable Guy’s Kids have some great pieces. (G) Eddie Tsao may now be the fastest end-to-end player in D2 (or D1), apologies to Will Chu. (F) Ben Wang is a versatile, play maker and rebounder, (G) Leo Fu is starting to pick the scoring and (G) Joe Tsai is a solid shooter. They just might need some more seasons together to contend.
(n/a) GOA 0-3 After an ugly opener, the Goat Herders have played better with (F) Pete Tsevdos, (F) Pete Stanojevic and (C) Gus Konidas joining the roster. They may be second only to TEA in overall team size, so they will score in the paint. The key to breaking out of this losing streak will be getting more consistent, solid guard play out of their backcourt.

MWW
3-0 How is it possible that Metta World War, having two titles in their last two seasons played, and with every team building their roster to beat them, seemed to have gotten even better? (F) Gus David‘s return and the addition of (F) Nick Annacone have now given MWW the only thing they lacked last season, depth. This is the team to beat.
(n/a) SAL 1-1 It’s a new look Sal Team 6 and new adds (G) James Hudson and (G) Scott Weisfeld give the team an even more polished in the backcourt. Weisfeld is a savvy scorer and point man, while Hudson can gun it with anyone in the Premier. They have given MWW their toughest game this season, that one could have just as easily gone to SAL.
(n/a) SPA
2-0 After a rough start sapped their confidence last season, the NYK Spartans look rejuvenated. This is still not a top end offensive team, but (F) Askia Davis gives them a consistent option in the front-court, and only bolsters their tough interior D.  Davis’ also frees up (F) Young Song to fill gaps and score without set plays, which he does very well.
(n/a) TIM 2-1 This is already much better than last season’s debacle. Tim Nubina has always had the size and shooting, but adding (G) Morgan Blakely and (G) Gus Gauntlett gives them two strong floor leaders now. Which frees up (G) Duke Stanojevic and (G) Stefan Perunicic to do what they do best, shoot the three ball.
(n/a) DYN 1-2 NY Dynasty has probably been past its prime for some time now. The once perennial champs don’t have the same consistency on D as in past seasons and tired legs look to be the culprit. They have no consistent 3-pt shooter. (G) Landon Glover was a good add, fitting their mold of smart, defensive-minded guards, but so far, the offense is stalling.
(n/a) BKA 1-1 After a long hiatus, BK All Day is back. The one-time champs may not be as young as they used to be, but they know haven’t forgotten how to win. Look for BKA to move up the ladder. (G) Honey Tufail has dropped 18 3FGs in 2 games, and (G) Rommel Dolar has the ball on a string as much as ever has. The key is who else will fill out the roster.
(n/a) ASN 0-2 The Asphalt Ninjas are really a free agent team, and though they have good talent, particularly 19 yo Pace University (G) Ryan Kennedy who has been virtually unstoppable off the bounce, they haven’t quite had the chemistry to pull out a win yet. But they haven’t been far off. This could be a matter of time before they make a run.
(n/a) BLH 0-3 The only team to win a title between MWW’s last 2 seasons was Bronx-Lebanon HC. But the momentum is lost after taking a season off. The key missing piece is the versatility and toughness of (F) Felipe Barrios. (F) Jimmy Noel has been a solid new add, but scorer (G) Courteney Tabron needs more help carrying the load offensively if (F) Brian Gilbert continues to miss games. Time is running out.
