Every other season TEAM SIX seems to get off to a dominant start. And this is one of those seasons. The big factor in two of their wins so far has been newcomer (G) James Wang. An overseas pro, Wang has lit up every team he’s played against so far.

WHG
2-1
Last season, WE HAD GAME had their best regular season, but they fell short once again in the playoffs. They’ll try to improve on that effort this season with (G) Michael Springer leading the way. Another season with (G) Jordan Schultz and (G) Zack Simmons won’t hurt either.
3 (n/a)
MWW
1-2
Not a great start for the 3-time champion METTA WORLD WAR who missed out on the title game last season, but availability has been spotty for key players. But getting (G) Chaz Thomas and (F) Nick Annacone back on the roster should mean a quick turnaround.
4 (n/a)
SPA
1-0
Fresh off a D1 championship, the NYK SPARTANS are back in the Premier with star (F) Young Song playing as well as ever. The team’s back court isn’t getting any younger, but experience they have.
5 (n/a)
PNL
1-2
PEACE & LOVE is back with essentially the same roster, a few new faces included. This is a team of scrappers who have played the underdog most seasons, but they’ll look to shake that rep this season.
6 (n/a)
DYN
0-2
Some new faces on the NY DYNASTY roster, but the core is still there led by (G) Garrett James. (G) Landon Glover is back, and if that weren’t enough, the addition of newcomer (G) Rell Watson will give DYN no shortage of top end guards. It’s bigs they need.
7 (n/a)
STM
0-1
Lot of new faces here for a team making their first foray into the Premier, so STRANGER TEAM gets a default low-ranking for now until they get some more games under their belt.

CRV
3-0
A roster of mostly new players, but don’t call them rookies. The CRAFTY VETS have been around. Led by (G) Chris Daley, what CRV lacks in youth, they more than make up for with size, skill and team chemistry. In Daley, they have D1’s best one-on-one scorer.
2 (n/a)
GA7
2-1
The last time GAME 7 played in TDL, they cruised to the D2 title. Now they’re back with a beefed up roster to try for D1 bragging rights. Rookie (G) Julian Choi has proven to be a great new scoring option, he’s been their best one-on-one scoring option so far this season.
3 (n/a)
YOL
2-1
YOLO hasn’t dazzled anyone with big numbers so far this season but they’ve pulled some big wins against winning teams. A couple of newcomers lead the way in (G) Warren Green and (F) Sam Chadwick.
4 (n/a)
OPA
2-1
What OPTION A lacked last season was a consistent wing scorer, and new add (F) Phil Thomas gives them that scorer now. (F) Haris Ahmed and (G) Scheed Bailey have given solid support to a 2-1 start.
5 (n/a)
HON
2-2
An unexpected start for the HONEY BADGERS, but you can count on this veteran team to turn it around quickly. For once, they might have too many players on the roster, but they’re actually putting up solid offensive numbers for once. Could the defense actually be slacking?
6 (n/a)
JLA
1-3
Not the start that JUSTICE LEAGUE was looking for, the scoring just hasn’t been there this season. Their defense has been solid, but if their offense doesn’t catch up, this might be another long season..
7 (n/a)
STA
0-3
Win-less so far this season, this will be a learning process for newbies STADIUM STARS. They have some solid pieces, including leading scorer (G) Chris Ramos, but developing chemistry will be key for this team.

HAR
2-0
TEAM HARDWOOD didn’t fancy themselves ready for D1, so they dropped down to D2 where they have won two in a row by a 23.5 ppg margin. This is a big roster with an able scorer in (F) Justin Drucker.
2 (n/a)
UBC
2-1
UNCLE BOUGHT A COW, on the other hand, wanted a challenge, and moved up from D3. This is a team now that could win it all. Veteran (G) David Weiss will lead the way, but the biggest surprise this season has been the standout play of (F) Ben Hoynes.
3 (n/a)
NGC
2-1
The defending champs, NYC GRITTY COMMITTEE, are back with more depth at the guard position but (G) David Chu appears to have finally settled in as the featured scorer. As usual, the veteran Gritty are just looking to make the playoffs, they can make a title run from any seed.
4 (n/a)
DPY
2-1
New addition (G) Emery Clark brings more scoring to the roster for DON’T EVER PLAY YOURSELF. This should help do-it-all (G) Kali Pearson. This is a big, physical lineup with a lot of versatile players. If they keep building their chemistry they can make a run.
5 (n/a)
SKL
2-2
When they’ve had all of their core four on the court, SKILLSHARE looks like they can compete with any team in D2 after making the jump from D3 this season. (G) Elliott Curtis may still be the best PG in the league at this level. And (F) Scott Sullivan‘s game has transitioned well.
6 (n/a)
GMM
1-2
Getting (F) Brian Law back was a huge boost for this team, but GUARD ME MAYBE was always going to be a team that needed to scrap to get wins. (F) Alvin Kong is also the perfect fit in this situation, but they’ll need to pick the up the D to start winning consistently.
7 (n/a)
JAM
1-2
They have as big a front-line as you’re gonna find in D2, but SPACE JAM relies on its streak 3-point shooting to win games. When they’re hitting the 3FGs, they can compete with any team in D2. Consistency is key.
8 (n/a)
DRP
0-3
The scoring just hasn’t been there for this spin-off team from DPY. DA ROTI PROJECT has plenty of players on the roster, with some very solid pieces. The question they have to answer is whether they can build the chemistry necessary to start winning some games.

SPR
3-1
This should be no surprise, SPAGHETTI RAMEN are perennial faves to win it all even after a season in which they didn’t. (G) Leuis Ng is carrying the heavy load right now, but Ramen should be glad to see (F) Mark Hahn back on the court, even if it takes some time for him to fully return.
2 (=)
YIE
3-1
YIELDMO beat SPR a couple of weeks ago but they took a huge blowout loss from NGC in Week 2, so they’ll come in at no. 2 this week. If they keep this up, however, they can challenge for the top spot. Rookie (F) Max Paynter has been a force and (G) Derek Lu is as tough as they come.
3 (n/a)
BIN
2-1
A veteran team that’s been to the title game before, TEAM BINY is only in it to beat SPR and win the title. (F) Carson Yiu will lead the way, but the addition of (G) Tony Cuadrado will be huge. Known as a defensive stopper, Cuadrado will also help on the boards despite his relative small stature.
4 (n/a)
DYN
1-2
This wasn’t the start that the NY DYNASTY wanted, but they got back on track with a big win over NGC. (G) David Chu will carry scoring honors, but the addition of (G) Steve Lee brings guard depth, and the add of (G) Caleb Lui brings maybe D3’s best defensive guard.
5 (n/a)
NGC
1-2
Despite the record, NYC GRITTY COMMITTEE will challenge for the title this season. Just too much veteran talent on this roster led by (G) James Choi and (F) Steve Chung. Not to mention (G) Teddy Oh has been a solid rookie addition to the roster.
6 (n/a)
SNB
2-1
This might seem like we’re disrespecting SMASH N BOUNCE but we just to see one or two more games. Their two wins have come against teams ranked lower than they are. But (F) Tim Zhang is playing well along with newcomer (G) James Dai, and captain (G) Andrew Tu.
7 (n/a)
WSW
1-2
WHAT IS A SEAWOLF? has a big time scorer in (G) Tommy Zheng, and they have competed in their losses, but team offense has always been the major short-coming with this team. Hopefully, Zheng can keep those shots dropping.
8 (n/a)
NET
0-4
The NASTY NETS are the only team that have yet to tally a win. (G) Matt Silberman has been their most consistent scorer with 12 ppg, but they need more offense to compete with a solid D3 field this season.
